Three more COVID-19 fatalities were yesterday reported with 90 new cases of the virus being recorded.
The Ministry of Health in a press release stated that the national death toll as a result of the virus has increased to 452. The latest casualties were identified as a 74-year- old woman from Region Ten, a 48-year-old man from Region Four, and a 32-year-old woman from Region Nine. They all died on June 20.
Meanwhile the country’s total number of positive confirmed cases increased to 19,234. The new cases were reported after 1,295 more tests were carried out, increasing the total number of tests done to date to 178,614. According to the regional distribution of COVID-19 cases, new ones were reported in seven of the ten administrative regions; eight new cases in regions Three and Six, 36 in Region Four, three in Region Five, two in Region Seven, 28 in Region Nine, and five new cases in Region Ten.
There are now a total of 1,520 active cases, 106 of whom are in institutional isolation while another 1,414 are in home isolation. A further 21 persons are patients at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit while 66 more persons have recovered. As a result a total of 17,241 persons have recovered to date.
