Permission has been granted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for a two-acre wharf at Eccles, East Bank Demerara to be developed by Timur Mohamed of TKK Properties Inc.
The EPA has also given the green light to Evelyn Sita Ramlal for the construction of a storage bond at Eccles.
In a notice in the Guyana Chronicle on Sunday, the EPA said that neither of the two projects requires an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA.)
The EPA is however advising residents of Eccles who believe that they are likely be affected by the two recently approved projects with EIA exemptions that they can lodge an appeal within 30 days against the EPA’s decision.
The wharf is to be constructed at Plot A, Block X, Plantation Eccles, EBD and the storage bond at Lot 238 Block No. 1 Plantation Eccles.
The EPA said that the wharf’s dimensions will be a total area of 83377.547 square metres and the bond will have dimensions of some 30.5m by 24.4m within a total area of 934.419 square metres.
