Residents of the Three Friends and Maria Elizabeth communities in Region Ten came together recently to construct a bridge across the divide created by the flash flood they suffered recently.
The roadway between the two communities was destroyed and submerged by the water from a breach of a tailings pond in the area. According to a post on the Region 10 council page, the residents came together to provide a safe corridor of travel for the schoolchildren and workers who have to traverse this route.
Employees who work night shifts were especially grateful for this intervention. The Region 10 council lauded the residents for their “selfless work”.
