(Trinidad Guardian) Thirteen more citizens have succumbed to COVID-19 raising the death count since the start of the pandemic to 892.
In its daily COVID-19 update issued last evening, the Ministry of Health revealed that the victims were five elderly males, six elderly females, one middle aged man and one middle aged female with comorbidities.
The ministry also stated that 115 additional persons had tested positive during a 24 hour period with the results coming from samples that were taken between June 30 and Saturday.
Of the 191 persons, who recovered from the virus between Saturday and yesterday, 44 were at public health facilities while 147 were recovered community case, who were in self-isolation at home.
The total of active positive cases stood at 6,533.
According to the release, 365 persons remained warded at public health facilities in the parallel health care system established for the pandemic. There were 126 patients in step-down facilities, 225 at State quarantine facilities and 5,927 in home self-isolation.
As of 4 pm yesterday, a total of 219,964 citizens had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine with 112,994 citizens being fully vaccinated with two doses.
Of those who received one dose, 90,392 received the AstraZeneca vaccine while 129,372 received Sinopharm.
Two hundred Pfizer vaccines, donated by the United States Government, have been administered to select National Security personnel.
