The South Turkeyen Sports Committee will stage a three-a-side small-goal football competition on Sunday at the Vryheid’s Lust tarmac from 8:00am.
According to a release from the committee yesterday, several teams from various villages along the East Coast Demerara carriageway are scheduled to compete in the competition.
Among the teams are: Plaisance, Beterverwagting (BV), Buxton, Victoria, Paradise and Melanie. An entrance fee of $1,000 per player is required to enter the tournament. Winners will receive trophies and medals as well cash prizes.
The sponsor and the organiser of the competition is Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell.
