Tomorrow night will see ten contestants compete in the final of the Guyana Talent Search competition. Vying for the number one spot are Quinesha Patterson, Joel Dudhnath, Cassie Adams, Logan Simpson, Roberto Teekah, Curtela Lewis, Darius Austin, Nia Allen, Sonia Singh and Kaysheena Bindiya Singh.
With the participants having upped their game over the past months, it is difficult to ascertain who will win the first edition of the competition; it could be a singer, a poet, a pianist, a pannist, an artist or a dancer.
In videos on the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Facebook page this week, two contestants shared their experience so far and what viewers can expect.
Nineteen-year-old Patterson of West Ruimveldt who stormed the competition with her spoken word poetry thanked her supporters, especially her parents who have been there for her through this challenging time as she prepares to sit her Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination.
Her favourite performance to date, she said, was “I’m Woman” at the semi finals. She did not disclose what she had planned for the final, but told fans it will be another multifaceted performance.
Eighteen-year-old Dudhnath from Mon Repos shared that his memorable performance was with the other contestants at the Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony.
Dudhnath noted that there was a time when he would not have taken such an opportunity as he was always shy and would never sing or talk in front of a crowd. He has definitely grown from being in the competition. “So if I can do it, so can you,” said Dudhnath. For the final, he said, viewers can “expect the unexpected.”
The final will be aired tomorrow at 7 pm on the ministry’s Facebook page, HJTV, NCN, and e-Networks.
