A motorcyclist suffered injuries to his head and other parts of his body after he collided with a car on Carmichael Street yesterday after he failed to stop at the intersection.
The injured man has been identified as Eon Ince of ‘B’ Field, Sophia.
Police in a release said that enquiries revealed that about 1:35pm yesterday, Ince on motorcycle CK 8677 was proceeding west on New Market Street when he failed to stop at the intersection of Carmichael and New Market streets. As a result, he collided with PSS 4618 which was being driven by Colin Joyce of Number 71 Village, Corentyne and which was proceeding south on Carmichael Street.
Ince was picked up in an unconscious state by emergency medical personnel and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted for a broken thigh among other injuries.
A Breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver of the car and no trace of alcohol was detected.
Investigations are ongoing.
