Hours after being injured in an accident at Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara, 18-year-old Isaac Hussain succumbed yesterday.
Two others involved in the accident are also in critical condition in the hospital.
Hussain, a disc jockey of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) was the driver of motor car PZZ 5096 when the accident occurred. The two injured persons have been identified as nine-year-old Michael Gomes of Tuschen and 22-year-old Pertab Singh of Parika, EBE.
According to police reports, the accident occurred at around 8.30 pm on Sunday. Police said the vehicle was proceeding west along the southern side of the road when Hussain allegedly lost control and collided with motor-lorry #GVV2920 which was parked along the northern side of the road, facing west.
Following the impact, public-spirited persons rushed to the scene and rendered assistance.
Hussain and the two other occupants sustained severe injuries and were taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where they received medical attention.
