More second doses of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine have arrived in the country and the administering of these will begin today.
This is according to Health Minister, Dr. Frank Anthony in his daily COVID-19 briefing yesterday. He noted that the ministry has had some challenges acquiring the Sputnik V second doses. “The Sputnik V we have had some challenges getting the second dose Sputnik V and as of tomorrow we would be able to give those persons who would require their second dose….”, the Minister noted. Sputnik V is the only of the current COVID vaccines available whose first dose is different from the second. Components of two different adenoviruses have been used in the shots. The second dose has been in short supply here and around the world.
