The body of a sixty-three-year-old man of Mocha, East Bank Demerara was yesterday morning discovered floating in the Mocha Access Road Canal in the vicinity of Fourth Bridge.
The deceased has been identified as Joseph Curt, a labourer of Lot 122 Prospect, Mocha, East Bank Demerara.
According to a police report, the man’s body was found around 10:30am yesterday. A public- spirited citizen assisted in retrieving the man’s body from the canal where it was discovered with swellings around his left eye and head.
His body was identified by his sister Marva Light before it was taken to the Memorial Gardens Crematorium awaiting a post-mortem.
