Moriah Hamilton headed to Howard University after successful fund raising

Moriah Hamilton

After successfully raising the money to cover her university expenses, Moriah Hamilton has officially been enrolled at Howard University in the United States and will soon be leaving Guyana to begin classes later this month.

During a press conference on Friday, former Director of Communications at the Ministry of the Presidency Mark Archer, who is also a member of the committee that was established to help Hamilton raise the university funds, disclosed that about US$45,000 has been donated by members of the private sector, small businesses and individual persons in support of Hamilton’s dreams.  Hamilton’s hopes to pursue a tertiary education were renewed after being granted a partial scholarship to attend Howard University in the United States. Her family was however unable to cover the remaining cost required for tuition and housing so they decided to seek assistance from the public.
