Two men who died in an accident at Airy Hall, Essequibo on August 1st suffered multiple injuries, their autopsies showed.
Twenty-three-year-old policeman, Romesh Das and his twenty-two-year-old friend Abdool Shamain of Anna Regina Housing Scheme died on the Airy Hall Public Road.
According to investigations, a motor car driven by Mahindra Raj, was proceeding south on the eastern lane when a motorcycle which was being ridden by Das and heading north on the western lane, swerved eastward, colliding with the car.
Das and his pillion rider, Shamain were picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival. The driver is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
The autopsies were done yesterday by government pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh.
