A post-mortem examination conducted on thirty-two-year-old Venezuelan national, Ilan Antonio Singh who was found in the alleyway aback of SleepIn Hotel on Church Street has ruled that the hotdog vendor died as a result of blunt trauma to his head and strangulation.
The autopsy conducted on Wednesday morning by state pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh has confirmed the police’s suspicions that the man was murdered.
Enquiries by the police had revealed that according to a female associate of the deceased, about thirty minutes after midnight on Sunday, Singh told her he was going to a party at the Rio Nightclub located at Forshaw Street, Queenstown.
His body which was discovered by a SleepIn maintenance worker some hours later at 6 am bore wounds to his head along with bruises on his knees, right hand and his left shoulder.
Singh’s body has been handed over to relatives for burial.
