A body was yesterday discovered under a tree at the backdam of Rising Sun, West Coast Berbice.
Dead is Clive Skeete, also known as ‘Bungo,’ 64, of Lot 17 Seafield, West Coast Berbice.
Police were informed of the discovery of the body just around 11 am yesterday. According to a police source, while no marks of violence was noticed on the body, blood was seen on the man’s mouth and nose.
Further, a bag of unpeeled coconut and a metal bar were noticed about 30 feet away from the body.
The man’s son told police that he last saw his father alive at home about two weeks ago. However, he disclosed that his father would often head to the backdam to pick coconuts, which he would sell for a living.
Skeete’s body was taken to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
