Two men are Guyana’s latest COVID-19 fatalities while 12 new cases have been recorded, according to the Ministry of Health.
With the latest fatalities, a 66-year-old man from Region Four, and a 26-year-old man from Region Three, the ministry said in a statement that the country’s total number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 561.
Meanwhile, the 12 new cases that were reported increased the total number of cases recorded by the country to date to 22,992. The results were confirmed after 380 more tests were done.
According to the ministry’s COVID-19 dashboard, new cases were reported in three regions: six new cases in Region Three, 4 new cases in Region Four and 2 in Region Six. There are now 777 active cases, 86 of which are in institutional isolation, while another 691 are in home isolation.
In addition, 12 persons are currently patients at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit.
