The Ministry of Health yesterday disclosed that three more persons who were infected with COVID-19 have died.
The country’s death toll now stands at 573. The deceased were identified in a ministry statement as a 65-year-old man from Region Four, a 54-year-old woman from Region Three, and a 47-year-old woman from Region Five. They all died on August 12th, while receiving state care.
Thus far, 27 persons have died from the virus in August, with 17 being recorded last week.
Meanwhile, according to the health ministry’s updated COVID-19 dashboard, 111 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed. Of these cases 69 are from Region Four, 25 from Region Two, 4 each from regions three and ten, 3 from Region One, 2 each from regions Six and Seven, and 1 each from regions Five and Nine. Some 1,503 new tests were conducted.
The dashboard stated that 16 persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 80 in institutional isolation, 859 in home isolation and 6 persons in institutional quarantine.
Based on the dashboards from last Sunday to yesterday, 528 COVID-19 cases from 8,601 tests done.
