Former West Indies captain, Sir Clive Lloyd said that he likes the aggression from young fast bowler, Jayden Seales since he burst onto the scene this year.
Lloyd made these comments while appearing on radio programme, Mason and Guests in Barbados earlier this week.
According to Lloyd, “what I like about him is he is aggressive and although he has just come into Test cricket, he’s got that sort of attitude that I like. Aggressive but not stupid and he is quick.”
Lloyd added, “He is a big guy and he is only 19-years-old and with the right guidance I think this guy has a long way to go. He is bowling a good line and a good length.”
Seales has played just three Tests and has already become the youngest West Indian to take a five-wicket haul in Tests which happened in the first Test against Pakistan last week where be ly broke the 71-year record held by Alf Valentine.
Lloyd, who captained West Indies to their first two World Cup wins reckoned, “He will learn a lot in this Test series because he seems to be bowling very close or is a close friend of [Kemar] Roach who I think has done extremely well for us in the last three years or so…”
Seales had previously credited Roach and Jason Holder for their input since being around the West Indies set up.
According to Lloyd, “Somewhat of a spell in County cricket might just pull him together but I think he has a lot of potential and he batted you know coming in at that time for a guy now playing Test cricket and can hold things together and didn’t panic I have a lot of praise for him and I wish him all the best in the future and I am sure he is someone we would hear a lot of in years to come.”
