Police are investigating the death of an unidentified male of East Indian descent who was yesterday morning discovered lying motionless along New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara.
About 7:30 am yesterday police received a call from an unknown person who informed them of the deceased.
A party of police who arrived at the scene found the man lying at the corner of the road. He was clad in a brown short-sleeved jersey, long blue jeans and white sneakers.
The man was checked for marks of violence but none was seen on the exposed parts of his body.
The deceased was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body is currently at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
