A 27-year-old man is wanted by the police in connection with the murder of Rosignol, Berbice resident, Feroze Khan last week.
In a wanted bulletin issued yesterday, the police said that Shane Samaroo also known as Travis Cortis, who goes by the alias ‘Tanta Bai’, 27 is wanted for questioning in relation to the crime which occurred on August 19 at Bennet Dam, Rosignol, West Bank Berbice (WBB).
Samaroo’s last known address is Railway Line, Rosignol, WBB. He was identified as the suspect in the matter by an eyewitness.
Khan called ‘Eggy’ of Carriage Road, Rosignol, WBB died last Thursday after he was beaten with a piece of wood and stabbed while leaving a shop in his neighbourhood.
According to information gathered, around 2 pm Khan was at a grocery shop at Bennet Dam, Rosignol when the suspect entered and purchased a bottle of water after which he left.
However, as Khan was leaving the shop the suspect rushed towards him with a piece of wood in his hand and dealt him several lashes about his body.
After Khan fell to the ground, the suspect whipped out a knife from his pants waist and dealt him a stab.
Khan was escorted to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital by police where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
