A Cumberland Village, East Canje, Berbice, teenager remains hospitalized at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after he was attacked by another teenager, who remains in police custody for questioning over the incident.
The 15-year-old victim was heading to Kamla’s Shop, Wallace Street, Cumberland Village when an argument reportedly ensued between the two teenagers on Saturday around 8.30 pm.
The suspect who resides at the location ventured into his yard and returned with a cutlass which he used to chop the victim on his forehead.
The 15-year-old was rushed to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient. As of yesterday afternoon he remained in a stable condition, a relative confirmed.
The relative noted that they are still unclear as to what led to fight but added that the two are known to each other.
