One more COVID-19 fatality along with two hundred and seven new cases were recorded yesterday.
This disclosure was part of a Ministry of Health release which also stated that the country’s total COVID-19 fatalities have now increased to 602. The latest death being identified as a 58-year-old man from Region Four.
The new cases recorded have increased the total number in the country to 24,713. These appeared after 1,810 more tests were done and raises the total number done to date to 258,574.
According to the regional distribution of COVID-19 cases, the majority of new infections were reported in regions Four, Three, Two and Nine with 119, 31, 20, and 19 new cases respectively. Further there are now 1,573 active cases, 108 of whom are in institutional isolation while 1465 are in home isolation.
Currently, 23 persons are patients at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit while 53 more persons have recovered. The total number of recovered cases in the country now stands at 22,515.
