A minibus driver is now counting losses after his La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara home was broken into.
The theft occurred between 5.30 am and 9.15 pm on Wednesday while the victim was away at work.
The police, in a report, stated that the driver, who lives alone, secured his premises around 5.30 am on the day in question, leaving everything intact as he went to work. However, at about 9.15 pm, after returning home, he discovered that the bolt and padlock that secured his door had been tampered with and the door was open.
The report said the 59-year-old then made his way into his house and subsequently discovered that several items were missing. He was relieved of an LG music set, valued $700,000, a television set, valued $35,000 and a TexGas bottle, valued $10,000.
