The three men who were arrested by the police on Tuesday in relation to the discovery of a quantity of medical equipment and documents have been identified as employees of the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH) and one has confessed to pilfering COVID-19 vaccine booklets.
Providing an update on the matter yesterday, Deputy Head of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit, Stan Gouveia confirmed that one of the suspects is a driver of one of the hospital’s minibuses, PWW 3747.
He said the suspect has since admitted to being the driver of the minibus which would sometimes be tasked with uplifting and transporting COVID-19 vaccination booklets from the Ministry of Health, Georgetown to the WDRH in Vreed-en-Hoop.
