Introduced to playing with legos at two years old, Alonzo Noble, who is now eight years old, is the president and founder of the Let’s Go Lego Builders Club, which was launched last Saturday at MovieTowne.

His doting mother Lynn Medford said that legos have been a huge part of Alonzo’s life and he has grown to be an amazing builder. The young club president who started out using the guides that came with the boxes of legos quickly evolved to building from imagination.

The idea of the club was conceived following Alonzo’s visit to Legoland in Denmark. Though he knows that many children in Guyana have some experience playing with Legos, the youngster believes there is much that is being missed out on and hopes that the club can foster the habit of children being more imaginative with their Lego creations.

Getting creative, Alonzo left with peers as they build a new Lego creation.

Alonzo is currently a VIP member of Legoland, Denmark.

“Lego is a great way to build your imagination, it’s easy to break and build again and there is nothing that can’t be built with Legos,” he said.

At the launch, Alonzo distributed Lego packs with free merchandise to his peers with the aim of having a day of fun and play. He encourages all children to give it a try. Legos come in many themes and are suitable for both boys and girls.

There are five stages of builders and each is represented by a colour. Red represents Pro Builders, Blue – Semi-Pro Builders, Green – Medium-Pro Builders, Yellow – Starter Builder and White – Beginners.

The club meets every Saturday at 4 pm at MovieTowne Fiesta Stage. Interested children can sign up by filling out a form. Coordinator of the Let’s Go Legos Builder Club Shania Mcphoy can be reached on Facebook or 600-0762.
