The Health and Education ministries will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccination drive for adolescents at MovieTowne, at Turkeyen today.
According to an advertisement on the Ministry’s Facebook page, the vaccination drive is to commence at 9 am and conclude at 4 pm at the MovieTowne parking lot. Youths age 12 and over who wish to get vaccinated must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and would also be required to present their birth certificate or a document with proof of age.
KFC has also partnered with the two ministries and it was announced that each child that gets vaccinated today will receive a free kid’s meal.
A United States donation of 146,250 Pfizer vaccines, approved for use in persons 12 years and over, is being used exclusively for a national inoculation programme for children, which was launched on Thursday.
On Tuesday, a vaccination drive is scheduled for the Diamond Secondary School and also the Covent Garden Secondary. On the following day vaccination drives will be held at Queen’s College, St. Rose’s High School and Bishops’ High School.
On September 2, vaccination drives will be held at the West Demerara Secondary School, Vreed-en-Hoop Secondary, La’Venture Secondary, and Patentia Secondary. All of these vaccination drives are expected to be conducted between 8.30 am and 3pm.
