A 37-year-old Recht-Door-Zee, West Bank Demerara (WBD) woman was this morning stabbed to death by her husband who subsequently hung himself.
The body of Mariya Camele Roberton, a mother of two was discovered lying face-down in a bedroom.
Her husband, Rawlin Rodrigues was found hanging from the roof over her.
The incident took place at Robertson’s friend’s house which is situated in the said area.
Reports are that the friend is currently in the interior and whenever she is, Robertson would look over the place.
The couple had been married for about eight years.
Relatives told Stabroek News that they would have arguments from time to time. They said a few days ago, Robertson travelled to the interior to attend a birthday party. At the time Rodrigues was in Suriname, where he was working. Upon learning that Robertson had left home, family members said he returned to Guyana the said night.
