Guyana’s latest gazetted COVID-19 emergency measures allow for cinema patrons to use concession stands.
The new COVID-19 Emergency measures (No.20) were updated for September and are expected to last until the end of the month.
According to the gazetted order, the country’s national curfew of 10:30pm to 4:00am remains in place along with the restriction on private parties, clubs and receptions.
Cinemas are now allowed to re-open to 60 per cent of their seating capacity (the previous figure had been 40 per cent) and the updated measures no longer mention any restriction on concession stands at theatres. However operators are expected to ensure that only vaccinated persons and staff are allowed access.
Additionally, the order states that gyms and fitness centres are only allowed to be opened at 50 per cent capacity providing that staff and patrons are in possession of their identification and vaccination documents.
Dining at restaurants is still permitted providing that those patrons are in possession of their proof of vaccination while seating per table has been increased to six persons.
Meanwhile, the order notes specifically that visitors and staff of government agencies and ministries are expected to show proof of vaccination or present negative PCR tests to gain entry.
