Cyclist, Walter Grant-Stuart, Guyana’s first and only representative at the ongoing 16th Paralympic Games, unfortunately was the last finisher in the men’s Time Trial and Road Race events.
The one-armed wheelsman finished 13th in the 32km Time-Trial on Tuesday and 18th in the Men’s C4-5 road race on Thursday at the August 24 to September 5 fixture being staged in Tokyo, Japan.
Grant-Stuart, 36, clocked 1:04:17.69s in the Time-Trial which was won by Daniel Gebru of the Netherlands in 42:46.45s.
In the road race, Grant Stuart, who is a fireman by profession, was not timed in the 92.4km race which was won by France’s Kevin Le Cunff in 2:14.49s at the Fuji International Speedway.
Time Trial’s silver medallist, Yehor Dementyev of Ukraine’s clocked 2:15:11 while Gebru, who won gold in the time trial, snatched bronze with a time of 2:15:20.
