A 36-year-old ‘B’ Field Sophia man has been arrested after police discovered an improvised firearm and a .32 live round on his premises on Wednesday.
According to a Guyana Police Force report, acting on information received, ranks turned up at the suspect’s residence around 10 am and conducted a search that led to the discovery of the weapon and ammunition in a chair in the man’s yard.
As a result, the man was arrested and taken into custody at the Alberttown Police Station.
The firearm and round have been lodged.
