Dear Editor,
The flood cash relief to farmers and others in the agriculture sector was rolled out with much fanfare. Now it seems it has morphed into a scandal with claims and allegations of undeserving persons not affected by the floods getting the relief, while those persons who were genuinely affected, being denied ( News Source Sept 9). How could this happen? Was due diligence done on claims made? Whatever it is, the claims have to be seen as an indictment on a well-intended initiative.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
