Former World Boxing Association (WBA) Gold belt title holder, Lennox ‘Too Sharp’ Allen, will be back in the ring tonight in Kazakhstan.
This was recently confirmed by the Brooklyn, USA-based super middleweight.
Allen, (22W (14KOs)-1) told Stabroek Sport that he will be matching gloves with the undefeated 29 year-old Aidos Yerbossynuly (15W (10KOs)-0) for the WBA (Interim) Championship belt.
The Jekpe-Jek Arena, in Astana, Kazakhstan, will be the stage for the bout between the two ranked fighters of the Pioneer organization. Yerbossynuly is ranked No. 1 and is a rising star who wants a title shot.
He will meet Allen, ranked No. 10, who has experience in world title fights and his goal is to be back in a fight of this type.
Allen, a 36-year-old southpaw, who suffered his first professional defeat at the hands of David Morrell last August, will be seeking redemption when he takes on the orthodox Yerbossynuly in his backyard.
Allen told this publication that he is “Good to go.”
“I’m good, I have been getting ready for this fight since like April because this fight was to happen since June but it was postponed, but I am good to go.”
Adding another ‘W’ to his record will put ‘Too Sharp’ firmly on the road to a world title shot.
