A driver attached to the Guyoil branch in Region Two died on Wednesday night after he crashed into a utility pole in Johanna Cecilia, Essequibo Coast.
Dead is 59-year-old Sugrim Singh of Perseverance Estate, Region Two. The incident occurred around 20:30 hours on Wednesday night.
Information gathered revealed he was riding a motorcycle bearing registration CE5133 and proceeding north along the western driving lane at a fast rate. He then lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a utility pole which was located on the western parapet.
As a result, Singh fell to the ground. He was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited persons and rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to the deceased’s sister, Monica Kanaya, she received a call from residents in the area around 21:00 hours. She recalled that when she arrived at the scene she saw her brother lying motionless on the ground.
Kanaya described her brother as a loving person. The deceased was a father of three.
