Police are on the hunt for two bandits who allegedly robbed two women at gunpoint of their belongings on Austin Street, Campbellville on Friday night.
The robbery took place around 8.05 pm.
The women, ages 63 and 58, were robbed of two handbags and $45,000 in cash. At the time, they were heading home.
According to the police, investigations revealed that the women were walking north along Austin Street when the suspects approached and stopped their motorcycle in front them.
One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, the police said.
The police said the pillion rider dismounted the motorcycle and held the victims at gunpoint, instructing them, “Don’t say a word. Give me de bags.”
The victims were relieved of their valuables after which the bandits made good their escape.
