An accident along the Palmyra Public Road on Monday left a West Coast Berbice pensioner dead after he was struck by a hire car, which was allegedly speeding at the time.
Dead is Abdool Rahim Lace-man, 69, of Lot 102 ‘A’ Woodley Park, West Coast Berbice.
According to information gathered, the driver of the hire car, HC 8500, was proceeding towards New Amsterdam while Laceman was proceeding in the opposite direction on the motorcycle CF 4743 when the accident occurred at around 10.30 am.
