Talent search was incredible experience for young winner Kaysheena Singh

At 11 years old, Kaysheena Bindiya Singh was one of the youngest contestants on the Guyana Talent Search Competition. Nevertheless, she managed to dance herself into the final ten and emerged as one of the winners.

This talented young dancer, who mesmerized viewers on the show, and hails from Capoey, Essequibo Coast, spoke with The Scene in the presence of her mother. “It’s an awesome feeling to be one of the winning contestants,” she enthused, adding that it was wonderful to have the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports give her such an opportunity even though she was so young. Kaysheena has since celebrated her 12th birthday.

She recalled that her mother learned of the competition from an advertisement on Facebook. During this time, the Taymouth Manor Primary pupil was preparing to sit her National Grade Six Assessment and needed to maintain a balance between the show and her studies. This was not a problem for the dancer who had been managing school and dance classes since she was four.
