Bartica miner Eon Anthony Ramnarine, 38, was stabbed to death on Monday at Obanna Back-dam, Kuribrong in Region Seven.
In a release yesterday, the police said that Ramnarine, of Lot 34 3rd Avenue, Bartica sustained 11 stab wounds.
A man from another mining camp is in custody. The police said that Ramnarine and the suspect had been known to each other and had a confrontation during which Ramnarine was stabbed.
Ramnarine’s body was taken to the Mahdia Hospital. The suspect was also taken there and is now in police custody.
