Six men who were arrested during a Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) operation were on Tuesday charged with possession of over 1,000 pounds of cannabis and two have pleaded guilty to the crime.
Pertab Singh, Fabian Gonsalves, Dinesh Williams, Frank Gonsalves, Antonio Ramlagan and David Jardine appear-ed at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where Senior Magistrate Leron Daly read the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking to them.
Singh and Fabian pleaded guilty to the charge, while the others denied the charge. However, Singh and Fabian Gonsalves were not sentenced. Instead, the Magistrate remanded them until October 11 for report and sentencing.
