A bus driver has been released on bail after being faced with multiple charges of fraudulently obtaining money from persons by falsely pretending that he was in a position to rent apartments and houses to them.
Patrick Clarke, 54, was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, where he denied the charges.
The first charge against him states that on August 30, at Stabroek, Georgetown, with intent to defraud, he obtained $120,000 from Shonette Forde by falsely pretending he was in the position to rent an apartment to her, knowing same to false.
