Scheduled to commence today to celebrate the 30th birth anniversary of His Worship the Mayor, Ubraj Narine, the annual Inter Ward/Inter Village football tournament will now commence in December.
This is according to a press release from Lennox `Mulling’ Arthur, executive coordinator of the tournament.
“The Mayor of Georgetown, Hon. Ubraj Narine will be celebrating his 30th birth anniversary on Tuesday October 12, 2021.
T^he4 Mayor’s Cup Organizing Committee has planned its usual Inter-Ward/Inter Village football tournament along with other events in his honour,” the release stated.
“Unfortunately, due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic, the football event will be held in December 2021 unto February 2022 with all regulations in place for the smooth running and safety of all officials, players and patrons,” the release added.
“Subsequently, the Mayor’s Cup Organizing Committee takes this opportunity to extend congratulations to the honourable Mayor on his very special day,” the release ended.
