A Meadowbrook nail technician was yesterday morning arrested by anti-drug enforcement officers at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri after being caught with suspected cocaine concealed in frozen curry and pepperpot.
The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) yesterday on their Facebook page stated that ranks intercepted the outgoing passenger, Mallika Lambert, 33, on a Copa Airlines flight destined to Panama with onward connections to JFK, New York and discovered suspected cocaine concealed in frozen food.
During an inspection of one of her pieces of check-in luggage, the ranks stumbled on the suspected illegal substance and a search was carried out. The search revealed 6.232 kilograms of suspected cocaine concealed in a bowl of frozen curry and a bowl of frozen pepperpot.
The suspect is currently in custody pending investigations.
