A 50-year-old school janitor died on Monday morning, hours after consuming a mixture of wine and an energy drink.
The woman who fell ill on Sunday night after drinking the concoction was admitted to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where she died the following day.
The deceased has been identified as Allison Noble of Lot 2022 Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo.
According to a police report, at about 8:30 pm on Sunday, acting on information received, officers from the Tuschen Police Outpost proceeded to the Tuschen car park at Tuschen Housing Scheme where Noble was found lying in an unconscious state.
Enquiries by the police revealed that the now dead woman had been imbibing the concoction when she complained of feeling unwell. She later collapsed to the ground at the car park.
Noble was rushed to the hospital where she was admitted and died the following morning at 11:30.
The exposed parts of the deceased’s body were checked for marks of violence but none was observed.
Her body is currently at the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy.
