Three youths ages 16, 17, and 21 were yesterday arrested by police following the robbery of a jewellery store. One of the suspects sustained a gunshot wound to the upper part of his right thigh.
A police release stated that about 12:15 pm, the suspects robbed Bharrat’s Jewellery Store on Robb Street, Georgetown of a cellphone valued $38,000 which was the property of a 30-year-old salesman and a small number of gold chains, finger rings and earrings (value unknown) belonging to the 48-year-old businessman.
Investigations revealed that yesterday at midday, the suspects entered the store while the salesman was inside. One of the suspects then pulled out a black handgun from the right side of his waist and pointed it at the victim instructing him not to say anything.
