The Lusignan Golf Club is expected to see the largest turn out of golfers this Saturday for the Trophy Stall Golf tournament which tees off at 12.30 hours.
The tournament was launched yesterday with a simple ceremony at Trophy Stall’s Bourda location.
It is expected to feature some of the top players in the country across the Medal Play 18-hole net score Shotgun Start format.
Speaking at the launch, vice-president Paton George said, “Ramesh and Devi have been among our best supporters at the Golf Club, 25 years’ relationship says it all and most of the trophies we present at the club at the various levels, are provided by Trophy Stall. They give us credit when we need it. They are very good so this is one of the longest relationships we’ve had ever.”
He added, “This tournament is just two tournaments away from the Guyana Open…these are some of the biggest tournaments of the year and will have the most participants. Last week we had 42, this week, we might have about 50 participants,” which is the largest turnout of the year.
Managing Director of Trophy Stall, Ramesh Sunich, said he is once again pleased to be associated with the Lusignan Golf Club.
“I would like to thank them for choosing me to be one of their sponsors and it gives me the opportunity to showcase my products and I am seeing there is a rise in golf in Guyana,” he said.
Sunich added that he would encourage all his friends and fellow businessmen to get on board and sponsor this sport which he reckons is developing.
