The body of a male, who is yet to be identified, was found on Monday in a trench east of the Good Success Dam at Craig, East Bank Demerara, the police say.
The scene was visited by police ranks around 3.45 pm on Monday.
The body was observed in a trench east of the Good Success Dam at Craig, face down and clad in a multi-coloured shirt and dark-coloured pants.
The body was in a state of decomposition when it was pulled out of the trench.
No mark of violence was seen on the exposed parts of the body which was escorted to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
Several persons have been questioned so far by the police but no useful information has been received.
The scene was processed and investigations are continuing.
