Man, 56, is latest COVID-19 fatality

A 56-year-old man who was partially vaccinated, succumbed to COVID-19 on Friday, the Ministry of Public Health has confirmed.

The Health Ministry said the man was resident of Region Four and his death moves the country’s total number of fatalities from the virus to 894.

Data released from the ministry also showed 100 new infections were confirmed from 1,323 tests that were done.

According to the ministry’s COVID-19 dashboard, there were 3,498 active cases with 18 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 106 persons in institutional isolation, six persons in institutional quarantine and 3,370 persons in home isolation.
