Dear Editor,
It has to be wondered whether the national television station has any concept of viewer interest and or scheduling of a programme. Here it was I was watching the game show ‘Common Knowledge’, which is of half-hour duration, when mid-way into the programme it was cut to make way for a programme I suspect was paid for. While I have no difficulty with a paid programme being given priority, to just cut a programme being followed with interest, is unacceptable.
Programmers dealing with scheduling must be cognizant of the viewer’s interest and if a paid programme is conflicting with the half hour game show, then don’t schedule the game show programme. Find another suitable filler. It is poor scheduling, knowing full well a half hour programme will have to be cut fifteen minutes into it.
Too often this is happening and it tells the viewer is not considered an equal stakeholder in these arrangements.
Yours faithfully,
Shamshun Mohamed
