Dear Editor,
The GTT Guyana Open Championship will be played over 36-holes on Saturday and Sunday, October 30-31st, 2021 at the Lusignan Golf Course. More than 70 players are entered in the Tournament for what is a tournament within a tournament, due to the fact that the Champion will be the player with the lowest gross score but net prizes will be awarded to players in the second (10-18 handicap players) and third (19-28 handicap) flights. The Open is the premium tournament in the calendar and the only one played over 36 holes and where the winner is determined on the lowest gross score (no adjustment for handicaps). It settles the question as to Guyana’s best golfer and separates the men from the boys. The organisers are hoping for kind weather to allow for uninterrupted play and a smooth tournament. The public is reminded that anyone is welcome to view any segment of play, subject only to Covid-rules compliance. The gallery will be largest during the final 9-holes of the final group on Sunday afternoon and the crowd is expected to be treated to what is likely will be a thrilling finish. Enquiries can be made by calling the clubhouse at telephone 220 5660.
Sincerely,
Ronald Bulkan
