Keevin Allicock was defeated 5-0 by Rujakran Juntrong of Thailand in his 57kg (featherweight) opening bout at the ongoing International Boxing Association (AIBA) Men’s World Boxing Championships in Serbia.
The defeat ends the campaign of the Olympian at the lucrative event which has attracted boxers from 105 member states plus AIBA’s version of a refugee team, called the Fair Chance Team (FCT).
The 22 year-old was vying for a spot in the round of 32 after receiving a ‘bye’, but lost all three rounds according to the judges’ scorecards despite showing his usual tenacity and grit, to drop a unanimous decision to his opponent.
