Case files lost in the massive fire that destroyed the century-old Brickdam Police Station, in Georgetown, are currently being reconstructed, Commander of Region 4(A) Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean says.
In a brief telephone interview with this newspaper on Thursday, McBean explained that the force is collaborating with the court to reconstruct the files. He said as the court gives the dates for matters, officers work with records from the court to reproduce the files.
Asked if he can comment on the number of files already reconstructed, the Commander responded in the negative, explaining that he didn’t have the numbers on hand. He nonetheless noted that “quite an amount” had been completed.
