An antigen test showing no evidence of COVID-19 together with proof of full vaccination can be used for entry to Guyana from November 1st, according to a notice from the CJIA.
Currently, a negative PCR test, taken within 72 hours of arrival here, plus evidence of full vaccination is needed for entry to Guyana.
The antigen test, known as the rapid test, is cheaper than the PCR and results are available more quickly. The decision to permit the antigen test would be welcomed by travellers.
The antigen test checks for a viral protein while the PCR, the gold standard, checks for genetic material from the virus.
